In many states, painting is a summer activity. In South Florida, timing is a little different because of our humidity and rainy season.
Exterior painting: aim for the dry season
The best window for exterior work is generally November through April — lower humidity and fewer afternoon downpours mean paint cures properly. Summer is still possible; crews simply work around the daily storms.
Interior painting: any time of year
Interior projects can happen year-round since they're climate-controlled. Summer is a great time to knock out interior work while the weather is wet outside.
What matters more than the calendar
- Painting on dry, prepped surfaces
- Avoiding paint right before rain
- Respecting cure times between coats
